PEACE Program for Children & Youth

Ages 3 to 18

PEACE stands for “Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling, and Empowerment”. This program provides supportive counseling and education to children and youth who have been impacted by family violence. Support is provided in both one-on-one and group settings, and is available to residents in our supportive housing programs as well as the North Shore public.

Our services are free, confidential, compassionate, 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly, culturally informed, and trauma-informed. PEACE Counsellors support children and youth to help them express and explore their feelings, process their experiences, build healthy relationships moving forward, and let them know that they’re not alone.

If your family can benefit from this program, please get in touch! Program eligibility requirements include (but are not limited to):

  • The child or youth resides in the City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, and District of West Vancouver (“North Shore”).

  • The child or youth is aged 3-18.

  • The alleged abusive adult does not live in the family home.

  • The child or youth has witnessed or experienced violence and abuse within their family.

  • The guardian can give informed consent for their child in English.
