Dec 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against women. This day was started after the murder of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal on Dec 6, 1989.
The NS VAWIR (Violence Against Women in Relationships) committee (northshorevawir.com) also marks this as a day to remember the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (mmiwg) To commemorate the day, every year the committee organizes a Walk to Remember.
Please join us on Dec 6 at 10:15 am outside the Provincial Courthouse if you’re able – rain or shine! Details in the link.
